Gas Analysis
The combination of natural gas isotopes and chemistry often provides distinctive end member groups correlative with the genesis and history of the gas. In terms of gases, CO2 and H2S are common by-products of thermal recovery operations; the volumes of the generated gases are difficult to predict and yet these acid gases must be disposed of. Again their abundance is related to in-reservoir water-rock interactions at high temperatures and can be linked to reservoir mineralogy and fluid compositions. Their presence in casing vent gas might be a harbinger for liquid leakage from a recovery operation in the area.
Some of the analytical services that we provide for gas are as follows:
- Gas Composition
- Gas Isotope - C1-C5 & CO2, C1-C5, H2S
- Data Interpretation and Reporting
