Steve Larter, PhD, FRS (Chief Executive Officer/Chief Science Officer)
Steve is the Chief Executive Officer of Gushor Inc. Prior to joining Gushor Inc., Steve worked for the Universities of Newcastle and Oslo, and in the 1980's for Unocal in California where he worked on conventional oil and gas, heavy oil and oil shale technologies, and developed Unocals basin modeling technologies.
Gordon Stephens, CMA (President)
Gord received is CMA in 1993 and brings to Gushor 20 years of diverse operational and financial experience primarliy in the oil & gas services industry. Prior to Gushor Gord was the operations manager for a manufacturing and retail organization in the confections industry and previously held various financial and project positions with a major international seismic company.
Barry Bennett, PhD (Director of Geoscience Technology)
Barry received his M.Sc. in Organic Petrology and Organic Geochemistry from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and his Ph.D. in Organic Geochemistry from the University of Bristol. Barry is responsible for laboratory quality control and method development, and team leads viscosity prediction at Gushor. His current research interests are linking petroleum reservoir geochemistry with petroleum engineering, the origin of heavy oil and oil sands and oil production issues.
Lloyd R. Snowdon, PhD (R&D Advisor)
Lloyd received his Ph.D. in Geology in 1978 from Rice University in Houston, Texas. Lloyd is currently the R & D Advisor for Gushor Inc. Prior to this, Lloyd was the Head of Energy and Environment with the Geological Survey of Canada, Institute of Sedimentary and Petroleum Geology.
Dennis Jiang, PhD (Laboratory Manager)
Dennis received his Ph.D. in Petroleum Geochemistry from the Curtin University of Technology, Australia. He also holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry and an M.Sc. in Petroleum Geology from PR China. Dennis has over 17 years of experience with both analytical and interpretive petroleum geochemistry related to the exploration and production of both conventional and unconventional petroleum resources.
Norka Marcano, PhD (Project Manager)
Norka Marcano received her Ph.D in Geochemistry from the University of Calgary and her M.Sc. in Geochemistry from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV). Prior to joining Gushor Inc., Norka worked for the Venezuelan state oil company PDVSA, applying geochemistry in multidisciplinary teams for reservoir characterization in geologically complex areas. Her research interests include the monitoring of heavy oil and oil sands thermal recovery using oil molecular composition.
Richard Stephens (Business Development Manager)
Richard is currently an MBA candidate at the University of Calgary, received his Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) degree from Nipissing University in Ontario, and has over 12 years of experience primarily in the oil and gas industry in Western Canada. Richard brings to the team knowledge of the wireline, laboratory, and mining sectors of the oil and gas industry.
